i have gone dumpster diving in the middle of a thunderstorm. i recovered from that adventure: a couple of scratched but playable cds, a ton of textbooks which i later sold on half.com for $30 and a rubber duckie collection

i have a degree in writing and english literature

i have never used my degree in writing and english literature, but i had fun getting it and thats what counts right?

when i went to college, i was going to be a studio art major. then i was going to be a psych major. then i decided that a writing degree would be more useful.

i have a tendency to make bad decisions

i own more books than cds

i have read just about all of them (at least partially)

my favorite book is The Great Gatsby

my favorite poet is Loiuse Gluick

my favorite poem (which happens to be by Loiuse Gluick) is "The Untrustworthy Speaker"

i can recite from memory the first 4 or so stanzas of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven"

i prefer american literature over british lit

i prefer black tea over green, but drink green more often because i know its good for me

my favorite color is blue

i had blue eyes as a child, but sometime during my teenage years they turned to a greenish/bluish/gray like color

when people ask me my eye color i tell them my eyes are the color of the ocean (depending on which ocean youre thinking of, its true)

when i yawn, i turn my tongue completely sidways in my mouth - to the right

i can write in mirror image

i can also write left-handed

i have not yet mastered left-handed mirror image though

if i stop to tie one of my shoes, i always have to tie the other as well

i have a license plate collection which hangs on my current bedroom wall

i did not steal any of them

but i did once steal a traffic cone and then decorated it with christmas lights and called it a tree

i have a stuffed animal i keep on my bed, a green turtle named Mr. Bear

i have absolute confidence in my ability to figure out how to do just about anything on my own - this is because i know how to 1. read directions, 2. use the internet and 3. locate my local public library

an ex once told me that something she loved about me was that, even if i didnt know how to do something or how to answer a question, i would make it up as i went along, sounding completely sure of the answer, and because of this, she always had faith in my ability to solve any problem

i cant stand fashion trends and usually revolt against them, but im really looking forward to the imminent return of grunge

i had to do a report on Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, the painter, for art class in the 9th grade. part of the assignment was to also copy one of the artist's works. this was the first time i discovered that i was, in fact, a stunningly good copy artist.

i have also copied van gogh, dali, and thomas kinkaid with remarkable accuracy.

my drinking habits in college were funded almost entirely by those copy artist skills. youd be surprised how easy it was to copy a state ID

i am a photoshop god

i am a neat-freak. to the point of OCD almost.

i do not, however, ever clean the kitchen floor. in four years of college i never once washed the kitchen floor. i also have never washed the kitchen floor of the apartment i have been living in for over a year

it will drive me crazy if i leave a glass sitting on the coffee table

but it doesnt bother me in the least bit that my kitchen floor is dirty

im currently pursuing a masters in computer science

i got my first job illegally. i was under-age by a year and worked more than 30 or more hours a week - way more than the 20 allowed by law for minors

i went to a lutheran high school

at the time i thought it was an excellent education. looking back i realize that what they truly taught me was how to hate myself and others like me - anyone who wasnt white, upper-middle class, christian and republican

i am highly disappointed not only in that school but also in the friends i had made there. 5 years later, most of them still practice the hate they learned there

i went to a catholic college, and i learned more love, respect and acceptance in just one year there than i ever did in 4 years of high school

neither of my parents were religious

as a child, i loved astronomy

the first thing i ever bought with my own money was a telescope

i have three freckles on my left arm which form the shape of the constellation "orion's belt"

i consider myself to be dualistic in nature. nothing about me is black and white, its always a little bit of both.

i am awful at spelling and grammar

i prefer to read and write non-fiction, with my favortism leaning heavily on creative non-fiction

im afraid of heights

i am INSANELY afraid of bees (and anything else that buzzes and could possibly be a bee)

im highly allergic to bees. they sting me often because of it

my heritage is italian, german and scottish.

i went to italy in 2003 and fell madly in love with the country and the culture

i secretly (or not so secretly) desire to be an american ex-pat

if you google my last name, you get a whole bunch of stuff about third reich germany

that creeps me out, so i tend to leave out the german when people ask me my heritage. thankfully i look more italian than german, so i get away with it easily

i own an atari. i think its still the best video game system there ever was

my lucky number is 3

i dont like giving or receiving red roses. its way too overdone. i tend to be a daisy person myself

i have never been to Disney World

i have never gotten a speeding ticket

im a very sentimental and emotional person, but i hide it well
